Parotid Removal – Essential Surgical Procedure or Surgical Excision of the Gland
The process of parotid removal is called as parotidectomy – surgical excision of
the gland – the major and largest of the salivary glands. The procedure is most
typically performed due to the neoplasm or tumors that are growths of rapidly
and abnormally dividing cells. Neoplasms can be benign or non-cancerous and
malignant or cancerous.

Happens After Parotid Gland Is Removal
Parotidremoval process is done properly and by following
surgical guidelines. Patients suffering with the symptoms and get treatment for

after the removal procedure (Gustatory sweating and Frey’s syndrome). Not to

superficial lobe and the deep lobe. Surgery is done to remove a tumor in the
superficial lobe – called a superficial parotidectomy. Surgery is done to
remove a tumor in the deep lobe or in both the deep and superficial lobes –
called as parotidectomy.
