What Causes Mucoepidermoid Cancer?

Mucoepidermoid cancer of the salivary glands is a type of cancer that is a rare epidermal cancer and develops in an individual when a cell acquires some changes in the genes responsible for the cell division.

The symptoms of mucoepidermoid cancer include the lump in the face, neck, mouth, weakness or pain in the part of the face or difficulty in swallowing. Mostly an individual has to take the help of surgery, to remove the tumour. In some instances, doctors recommend that patients undergo chemotherapy or radiation therapy to remove the tumour.

Mucoepidermoid cancer grows slowly, when it is at the initial stages but, this growth becomes very fast when the initial stages are over. Therefore if an individual thinks that he is suffering from mucoepidermoid cancer then, he should consult a physician. If an individual gets the treatment at the correct stage, then it can be cured very easily.

Surgery to remove the tumour is available for both grades of adenoid cancer as low-grade tumours and high-grade tumours. The chances of recovering from a low-grade tumour after surgery are more on foot. The high-grade tumours are treated with surgical excision with other therapies, like radiotherapy as well.

Salivary glands are important for an individual because, without these glands, the mouth cannot maintain tooth health. And it will be difficult for an individual to swallow things. With the removal of the gland, there can be some loss of symmetry to the face of an individual.

Don't wait and take action.
